I'm taking on the Cycle 300 Miles in June Challenge
Did you know that 1 in 8 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime?
I'm one of them.
Late last year, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I'm sharing this not for sympathy, but because it taught me something I think more people need to hear: prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, and yet it doesn't always get the attention it deserves.
I was lucky. Mine was caught early, classified as low grade (Gleason 6, Stage 1), and I'm now on an active monitoring programme rather than needing immediate treatment. Many men aren't so fortunate.
So I've decided to do something about it. In June I'm cycling 300 miles throughout June to raise money for Prostate Cancer Research — because every pound raised goes towards better detection, better treatments, and ultimately saving lives.
