I'm taking on the Walk 100 Miles in September Challenge

Did you know that 1 in 8 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime?

I’m taking on the Walk 100 Miles in September Challenge for Prostate Cancer Research to change this and help make a difference to men and their families who have been affected by prostate cancer.

Please support me during this challenge by donating what you can to Prostate Cancer Research. Every donation you make helps advance our mission to create a world free from the impact of prostate cancer.

Thank you for your support! šŸ’™šŸ§”

Goal raised to £500

Sunday 13th Sep
I think I started with a goal of Ā£150 which I very quickly reached so thank you again to my early sponsors. I have raised it two or three times since and have now reached my most recent goal of Ā£300 thanks once again to my generous sponsors. So today I’m raising it again to Ā£500 and look forward to surpassing this. Fingers crossed.Ā

Thursday 10th Sep
I am now 10 days into ā€œWalk 100 miles in Septemberā€ for Prostate Cancer Research which is 3.3 miles per day. I’m happy to say they I’m right on target as I have now completed 34 miles in 10 days. Today was 13 miles to the Exeter Arms in Barrowden for a very excellent lunch. I’m also delighted to say I have already received a very generous total of Ā£228.00 in sponsorship. Please do feel free to add to this if you would like to.

Weekend in London

Tuesday 8th Sep
Spent the weekend with our friend Maggy celebrating her birthday. With both a legendary amount of alcohol being consumed and time spent travelling we did not get a lot of walking done.Ā

Still under the weather

Thursday 3rd Sep
Still under the weather but definitely better than yesterday. Only two miles again today so need to do more than that tomorrow.Ā

Struck down by the lurgy

Wednesday 2nd Sep
I have been struck down by the lurgy today so only managed a couple of miles up to the airfield and back. But that is two more miles off the one hundred so all good.Ā

Why I’m doing this.

Wednesday 2nd Sep
Like probably many of you I know far too many men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Fortunately the majority of them have survived and have been given the all clear. My twin brother, Alan, is one of them. He had his prostate removed by a surgeon using a robot. Sounds like science fiction but it’s true. A very good pal of mine also had the same procedure. Advances like this are only possible through the funding of research. That is why I am asking you to support my efforts in raising money for Prostate Cancer Research.Ā
