Fundraising
How do I set up an online fundraising page?
Your page will be set up automatically upon registration with PCR and you will also receive an email that confirms your fundraising page link.
Is there a fundraising target?
There is no minimum amount you need to raise. We simply ask that you do your best to raise as much as you can to support our life-changing research projects and help men affected by prostate cancer.
The target is automatically set to £150 on your fundraising page, as people with targets on their page raise the most. While there's no commitment to reach this amount, we'd love for you to aim high. Â
Anyone who raises £150 or more will receive an exclusive PCR medal as a thank you for their incredible support.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps fund vital research and brings us closer to better treatments, earlier diagnoses, and more lives saved.
How do I change my fundraising target?
If you reach your target, we suggest upping the target on your page. This encourages people to keep donating to help you reach your target.Â
How do I get a medal?
For this challenge, if you raise £150 or more and have opted to receive one, you’ll be sent an exclusive PCR medal as a thank you for your incredible support.
Medals will start being sent out during the challenge month (September). Please allow up to 14 days for it to arrive. If your medal hasn’t arrived after that time, please email facebookchallenge@eventsupport.pcr.org.uk and we’ll be happy to help.
What if I’m struggling to fundraise?
Don’t worry, many fundraisers find it takes a little time to get their first donations. Here are our top tips:
Make a self-donation. If you’re able to, get the ball rolling by making the first donation yourself. Seeing a donation on your page can inspire others to get donate too.
Personalise your fundraising page. Add a photo and add a blog post to explain why you’re taking on the challenge and why supporting prostate cancer research matters to you.
Share your page widely. Post about your challenge on social media, send your page to friends, family and colleagues, and don’t be afraid to remind people throughout the month. People are often happy to support – they just need a gentle nudge!
Share your progress. Post photos, videos and updates from your walks. Supporters who regularly share updates often raise more because people enjoy following their journey.
Remember, every donation makes a difference, no matter the size. If you’d like more fundraising support, get in touch via our Facebook group or at facebookchallenge@eventsupport.pcr.org.uk – we’re here to help!
Do I have to use online fundraising, or can I fundraise offline too?
Yes, you are more than welcome to fundraise offline and use the sponsorship form which can be found in the resources tab. To pay in your money simply pop the money into your own bank account and make a donation to your fundraising page.Â
How can I send in sponsorship money I've collected offine?
Simply pay the money into your own bank account and make a donation to your fundraising page.Â
Can I use the Prostate Cancer Research logo on posters, t-shirts etc?Â

Can my employer sponsor me or match my fundraising?
Yes, we would love to hear about how your employer is able to help. Matched funding is a great way to reach or sometimes double your target!
If your company requires proof of your fundraising or details about Prostate Cancer Research before making a matched donation, please contact us at facebookchallenge@eventsupport.pcr.org.uk and we’ll be happy to provide any information they need.
If your employer would like to make a donation directly to Prostate Cancer Research, please get in touch and we can advise on the best way to do this.
