My prostate cancer story
Friday 4th Sep I was diagnosed on 09/03/2026 as having 13 out of 18 biopsies showing positive for prostate cancer, this meant a choice of having a prostate removal surgery or radiotherapy. The surgery required me to lose 2 stone in weight before the surgeon would consider operating, whereas the radiotherapy just needed 3 small tattoos. Mid April i had my 1st of 20 sessions.ÂCome August 12th i had a review with the oncologist to see how sucessful the treatment had been. My pre treatment PSA level was 4.7, but after treatment it had dropped to 1.2Â
This was considered to be very good , and now it needs to drop below 1 . The other target is to keep it from going over 2 as that means going back for more treatment. So as things are i am heading the right direction for a good recovery. Fingers crossed. I have taken on this walk as a thank you for the treatment and to help others get the chance of a similar result to mine. Thank you Dene.
