I'm taking on the Run 50 Miles in October Challenge
Did you know that 1 in 8 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime?Having just been diagnosed myself, I’m taking on the Run 50 Miles in October Challenge for Prostate Cancer Research to change this and help make a difference to men like me and their families who have been affected by prostate cancer.
Please support me during this challenge by donating what you can to Prostate Cancer Research. Every donation you make helps advance our mission to create a world free from the impact of prostate cancer.
Thank you for your support! 💙🧡

Update
Thursday 22nd Oct Quick update - I am well on track to hit the 50 mile target this week.
Update
Wednesday 14th Oct I originally signed up for this challenge with a target of raising £150.
About me
Monday 12th OctI’m Paul, 61 yrs old, and at the end of September this year was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Thankfully, at present (and hopefully for the foreseeable future), the cancer is small and contained, so I have been placed on active surveillance. I confess that being placed on active surveillance did make me feel like a bit of a fraud; I have cancer, but I’m not being treated. I know that’s not the case, but it took me a little while to get my head round that.
I have to say that throughout the process the NHS has been brilliant and subsequently, reading the information on the website and speaking to Prostate Cancer Research has been a big help.
That’s why I decided to sign up to run 50 miles this October, to hopefully raise awareness, but more importantly vital funds to assist with ongoing research for a cause that is now very much a personal one for me and my family.
I’m even really enjoying the running, our 3 year-old labrador Burt has kept me company on a couple of runs, which makes the miles pass even quicker.
