I'm taking on the Run 50 Miles in October Challenge

Did you know that 1 in 8 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime?

I’m taking on the Run 50 Miles in October Challenge for Prostate Cancer Research to change this and help make a difference to men and their families who have been affected by prostate cancer.

Please support me during this challenge by donating what you can to Prostate Cancer Research. Every donation you make helps advance our mission to create a world free from the impact of prostate cancer.

Thank you for your support! 💙🧡

🏃‍♂️ 50 Miles in October - Completed! 🎉💙

Thursday 29th Oct
Well, what a month it has been.
When I signed up for this challenge, I knew it wouldn't be easy. Starting on 1st October with an early morning 2-mile run, 50 miles felt like a huge target. What made it even harder was that I was still recovering from plantar fasciitis, meaning that many of those miles were completed through pain and discomfort.
There were early mornings, tired legs, wet weather, and not one but two bouts of cold and flu that tested my determination. There were days when giving up would have been the easier option. But every time I laced up my trainers, I reminded myself why I was doing it.
Today, I completed the challenge with a final 3-mile run. Ironically, it turned out to be one of the most comfortable runs of the entire month, and crossing that finish line felt incredibly special.
I want to say a heartfelt thank you to my family, friends, work colleagues, residents, and everyone who has supported, encouraged, and donated along the way. Your kind words, messages, and generosity carried me through the tough days more than you'll ever know.
Together, we've currently raised £455 for Prostate Cancer UK, and that means far more to me than the miles themselves. Knowing that this challenge may help make a difference to men and families affected by prostate cancer made every step worthwhile.
I'm proud, relieved, and grateful.
50 miles completed. £455 raised. Challenge finished. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. 💙
Onwards and upwards.

Run 50 Miles in October - The Journey Begins

Thursday 1st Oct
This morning, while most people were still asleep, I was up early lacing up my trainers for the first run of my Run 50 Miles in October challenge in support of Prostate Cancer UK.
I'm not going to pretend it was a huge distance. Today's run was 3.37km (2.09 miles), but every challenge starts with a single step, and today was all about making that start.
There will be mornings when I don't feel like getting out of bed, days when my legs are tired, and times when the weather isn't on my side. But knowing that this challenge is helping to raise awareness and support for such an important cause will keep me moving forward.
Prostate cancer affects thousands of men and their families, and if putting in a few miles throughout October can help in some small way, then every step will be worth it.
So, the first 2.09 miles are in the bank. There are still 47.91 miles to go, but I'm excited for the journey ahead. One run at a time, one mile at a time, and hopefully making a difference along the way.
Onwards and upwards. Here's to 50 miles for a great cause. 💙
