I'm taking on the Run 50 Miles in October Challenge

Hi Everyone,

You may not know this but I had a scare two years ago regarding my Prostate. I attended my doctor for a totally unrelated issue and while I was there I decided to have a prostate check done. It was then discovered something was not right. Being fast forwarded for MRI scans, blood tests etc. it was a scary time over Christmas 2024. The not knowing and the following three months of monitoring was a really scary time for me.  

I was eventually given the all clear, but had I not done that test I would never have known, I felt ok no issues, nothing out of the ordinary. I was lucky.

However, did you know that 1 in 8 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime?

I’m taking on the Run 50 Miles in October Challenge for Prostate Cancer Research to change this and help make a difference to men and their families who have been affected by prostate cancer.

Just to say I managed to meet my target of 50 miles in October with a few days to spare. I am so proud of myself, but it has made me realise how old I am and my body is feeling it. Your donations have spared me on and I cannot thank you all enough. The donation page is available until the end of November and if I could reach £800 this would be beyond my expectations. Hi Everyone,

Just a quick update. I had a bad start and tweaked my hamstring after an incident with a car (long story 🤦‍♂️). I had to delay my start by a couple of days whilst I recuperated. I am back on the road and starting to rack the miles up. This is a fantastic charity and raising awareness and vital funding for really important research will help men in the future. Thank you all and onwards I go. 👍
