I'm taking on the Run 50 Miles in October Challenge

Did you know that 1 in 8 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime?
As many of you know, Greg was diagnosed in August last year with prostate cancer and so this is a cause very close to my heart. 

I’m taking on the Run 50 Miles in October Challenge for Prostate Cancer Research to  help make a difference to men and their families who have been affected by prostate cancer.

Wow - I’m truly amazed at everyone’s generosity and can’t believe I’ve already raised nearly £1200!
I did a training run this morning which went well so hopefully with just over 2 weeks to  go I can do a few more training runs. My t-shirt has now arrived so I’m all set! Thanks again to everyone who has sponsored me x

How it all started

Sunday 6th Sep
I was in a little hotel gym in Exeter this weekend as we had been moving Lucas into his 2nd year uni house. I saw the challenge pop up on Facebook and thought- yes, let’s give it a go. I am extremely passionate about prostate cancer research and finding future treatments for the disease and the charity do amazing work. It seemed a good positive thing to focus on now Greg’s main treatments are completed.
I haven’t been running much at all recently as mainly concentrating on netball, gym, spin classes etc so I better start a bit of training. I’m aiming to do 3 x 4 mile runs a week.
