Tuesday 15th SepThis October, I'm taking on the Run 50 Miles in October challenge for Prostate Cancer Research.
The cause is a personal one for me. My father-in-law was diagnosed with prostate cancer at the end of 2025. Thankfully, he was treated early in 2026 and is doing well.
At the same time, I've been on a bit of a journey myself.
Back in May, I weighed 19st 4lb. Since then, I've worked hard to improve my health and I'm now down to 15st 3lb.
Part of that has involved taking up running. To anyone who knows me, that's probably the most surprising part of this whole story! Running was never something I thought I'd do, let alone enjoy.
But here I am, signed up to run 50 miles throughout October. It won't be easy, but neither was losing over 4 stone.
I'm doing this to support a fantastic cause, challenge myself, and hopefully raise a bit of money along the way. I'm determined to complete it and make every mile count.
