Running the Brighton Marathon for Dad ❤️
Saturday 25th JulIn May, my family received news that completely changed our world my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Dad is someone who is rarely ill, so hearing the word “cancer” was a huge shock for all of us. It’s something you never expect to hear about someone you love, and it has made me realise just how important research, treatment and support for families affected by prostate cancer really are.
Running a marathon is something I’ve wanted to do for a few years now. I’ve entered the ballot for the London Marathon before but never managed to get a place, and if I’m honest, I never really considered running it through a charity.
When Prostate Cancer Research offered me a charity place to run the Brighton Marathon, I knew this was my opportunity to finally take on the challenge I’d always wanted to do but this time, for a reason that means more to me than I could ever put into words.
I enjoy exercising, but I’ve never really had the motivation to push myself towards something as huge as running a marathon. Now I have something much bigger than motivation I have a reason. I’m doing this for Dad.
Training for and completing 26.2 miles is going to be one of the biggest challenges I’ve ever taken on, but knowing I’m doing it to help raise money for prostate cancer research will keep me going when it gets tough.
So, please, if you’re able to, I’d be incredibly grateful for any donation no matter how big or small. Your support will help Prostate Cancer Research continue their work to improve the lives of people affected by prostate cancer and support families like mine.
Dad, I’m doing this for you. I love you with all my heart, and I hope I’m making you proud. ❤️
Thank you so much to everyone who donates, shares my page, supports my training or simply sends me a message. It genuinely means the world to me.
26.2 miles. One very special reason. For Dad. ❤️

Good luck 🙂
