Registration

How do I register for a Prostate Cancer Research charity place?

To secure your place, please click on the register button on the event home page. You will need to pay a £30 registration fee (inc VAT) and commit to fundraising a minimum £500 for Prostate Cancer Research.

I already have a Brighton Marathon place, can I still run for Team PCR?

If you’ve already bought your place directly from Brighton Marathon and would like to use it to support Prostate Cancer Research, we’d love to have you on board! There’s no entry fee, no fundraising target and you will still receive all the same benefits and support as a charity place runner.

What do I get as part of Team PCR?

As part of our team you will receive; a personalised running top, access to a training app and virtual training days, a big cheer from our cheer post around mile 18, a post race party (with extras), and one-to-one fundraising support.

What happens after I sign up, what should I expect?

Upon registering you will be guided straight to your fundraising page for personalisation along with an email confirmation and link to your fundraising page.

Following this you should expect to receive regular communications from us about the event, our work at PCR and top tips to help you reach that finish line!

Is there a minimum age to take part?

Yes, participants in the Brighton Marathon must be aged 18 or over on event day (organiser rule).

Can I transfer my entry to someone else?

Places are non-transferable or refundable. 

Fundraising

How do I set up an online fundraising page?

Your page will be set up automatically upon registration with PCR and you will also receive an email that confirms your fundraising page link.

Please note that after completing your console registration (the second step to enable your participation in the event) an Enthuse fundraising page will be created for you too. We do however advise that you continue to use your PCR page.

Do I have to use online fundraising, or can I fundraise offline too?

Yes, you are more than welcome to fundraise offline, please make sure to reference Brighton Marathon 2027 and use the details on this page to send your money to PCR.

Does Gift Aid count towards my £500 fundraising target?

Whilst we do accept gift aid donations it does not contribute to your £500 commitment.

What if I’m struggling to reach £500?

If you're struggling to fundraise, please get in touch with our events fundraising team (events@pcr.org.uk) for some tips and advice on how you could reach your target.

Are there suggested fundraising milestones?

Yes, we have some suggested milestones to help you hit your target, this includes:

  1. Set up your fundraising page by the end of November 2026
  2. 30% of fundraising target by the end of December 2026
  3. 50% of fundraising target by the end of February 2027
  4. 80% of fundraising target by the end of March 2027
  5. 100% of your target to be reached one month after race day

Can I use the Prostate Cancer Research logo on posters, t-shirts etc?

If you would like to use our logo on materials to support your fundraising please contact our team first (events@pcr.org.uk) and we can provide you with our 'In support of' logo. 

Can my employer sponsor me or match my fundraising?

Yes, we would love to hear about how your employer is able to help. Matched funding is a great way to reach or sometimes double your target!

Race Day

Where does the marathon start?

The start line is in Brighton at Preston Park.

What time does it start?

The official start time will depend on the wave you have been allocated, this will be confirmed about five weeks before event day and you will receive an email from Brighton Marathon Weekend with your race timeslot. 

What is the cut-off time?

The cut-off time to complete the Brighton Marathon is seven hours. 

Will I receive a Participant Guide?

Yes, participants will receive an official participant guide several weeks before the event. 

When will I receive my Event Pack/bib?

Event packs are sent out from the organisers and will arrive a couple weeks before event day. 

Is there bag-drop?

Yes, there is a bag drop available at the start point in Preston Park.

Will there be pacers?

Yes, there will be pacers across a wide range of finish times.

Can friends and family track me?

Yes, tracking is available via the official app, available in the week leading up to event day.

Where is the Team PCR cheer point?

We will have a cheer point just before mile 18, outside the Seahorse pub. We can't wait to cheer you on! 

Accessibility

Can I take part with a Support Runner?

Yes, organiser FAQs state that you can apply for a free place for a support runner if you are visually impaired or have a disability/medical condition that requires support, and they reference a supported runners project.

Can wheelchair users or participants using assistive devices take part?

Organiser FAQs state it is possible to be pushed around the course in a wheelchair or similar assistive
device, with disclosure required in the application process. Read more here.

Are there accessible spectator areas?

Organiser FAQs state that there are three accessible spectator areas, using what3words references; Team
PCR can link to those official locations rather than duplicating them.
