I'm taking on the Run 50 Miles in October Challenge

Did you know that 1 in 8 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime?

I’m taking on the Run 50 Miles in October Challenge for Prostate Cancer Research to change this and help make a difference to men and their families who have been affected by prostate cancer.

Please support me during this challenge by donating what you can to Prostate Cancer Research. Every donation you make helps advance our mission to create a world free from the impact of prostate cancer.

Thank you for your support! 💙🧡

Boom!!!

Saturday 31st Oct
Well that’s it! 51 miles done in October and £535 raised.

I started the month running, had to walk mid month due to tight calves and sore Achilles, and there was no way I wasn’t going to finish with a run. Finish off with a Parkrun at Victoria Park in Leicester. Can’t say it was fun but the sense of achievement is huge.

A massive THANK YOU to everybody that has sponsored me and helped me raise over £500. You are all amazing. Thank you x

Bloody Hell Barbara........

Wednesday 28th Oct
On the last week now and have had to walk for the past 2 weeks as my calves have been protesting, alot. 7 miles to go and I'm going to start running this last section so at least I started running and finished running!

This is harder than I thought..........

Thursday 8th Oct
I just finished Day 5 and I'm 12 miles in now. I feel a tad broken and not a runner! I looked back at when I last ran more than 2 miles and it was in 2015 when I did 2 Parkruns. The lungs are working but both Achilles are tighter than an Agincourt archers bowstring. Todays run was a run/walk and only ran about 3/4 of a mile before my Achilles flared up again. Forrest Gump I am not.....Anyhoo will go for a leg loosening walk at lunchtime today as the sun is out

First Run

Friday 2nd Oct
Dust off the trainers and pull on the Prostate Cancer t shirt. 2 miles done. A good first day. Will the sweating ever stop??
