I'm taking on the Run 50 Miles in October Challenge

Did you know that 1 in 8 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime?

I’m taking on the Run 50 Miles in October Challenge for Prostate Cancer Research to change this and help make a difference to men and their families who have been affected by prostate cancer.

Please support me during this challenge by donating what you can to Prostate Cancer Research. Every donation you make helps advance our mission to create a world free from the impact of prostate cancer.

Thank you for your support! 💙🧡

❤️ 50 MILES IN OCTOBER FOR PROSTATE CANCER — FOR MY DAD & EVERYONE FIGHTING THIS BATTLE 💙

This October, I’m taking on the challenge of running/walking 50 miles in 31 days to raise money for prostate cancer, and this is a cause that means so much to me personally.

My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer in March 2024. Since then, I’ve watched him face the ups and downs that come with this horrible disease, and seen first-hand how much it affects not just the person fighting it, but their whole family too.

More recently, a clsoe friend’s husband (Mark and Korin) has also been diagnosed with prostate cancer, which has made this cause feel even closer to home.

So this challenge is for both of them, their families, and everyone else facing a prostate cancer diagnosis. 💙

Cancer brings so much uncertainty — the appointments, the results, the worry about what comes next — and sometimes you just feel completely helpless watching someone you love go through it.

Running 50 miles is a small thing compared to what so many people are facing, but it’s something I can do to help raise awareness and money for such an important cause.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, I’d be incredibly grateful. Your support will help with prostate cancer research and support for people and families affected by the disease.

And if you can’t donate, please don’t worry — sharing my fundraising page would mean just as much. ❤️

50 miles. 31 days. Every mile for someone fighting this battle.

It’s going to be a hell of a change for me, and one I’ll never forget. I’ve signed up now though, so challenge accepted.

This one’s for you, Dad. ❤️💙

Thank you so much for all the donations, shares and support. It genuinely means the world to me. x

Hi Ashley. Good luck on your 50 mile challenge, i know only too well how hard these things are having started charity fundraising 30 yrs ago. I did the C2C cycle ride in 1996 having never been on a bike for 30 yrs. It nearly killed me...haha I.ve been doing it ever since as well as 100s of other charity events. I have a lot of respect for people like yourself giving time, effort, and energy to a good cause. Well done. It will be hard, you will ache and you.ll be tired at the end, but that is nothing compared to the feeling of knowing you completed the challenge. Add to that the fact you are raising awareness for this great cause which will save lives. Respect..... Les ( i know korin)

**Good luck with your incredible 50-mile run challenge for prostate cancer! These past two years have been the hardest of our life, watching your dad, (my husband) go through this cruel disease. Seeing him battle advanced prostate cancer that has spread to his bones has been heartbreaking beyond words. What people may not see is that, deep down, he is a fighter. He tries to stay strong, but I know how much this is traumatizing him inside. Behind the brave face are fears and thoughts he struggles to share, especially the worry of what will happen to his family and the people he loves most, the things we took for granted are no longer doable for him, the challenges he faces working things out frustrates him, and the daily fatigue has seen him turn into daytime napper 🤣, something we would never of seen from a man who worked 60 hours + a week because he loved his work so much. Watching someone you love face something so cruel changes you forever. It not only impacts the person fighting it, it impacts everyone around them. That’s why what you’re doing means so much to us. Taking on 50 miles is an incredible challenge, and knowing you’re doing it to raise awareness and support for prostate cancer makes us so proud. Every mile you run represents love, hope, courage and the fight so many families like ours face every single day. Best wishes, get Running!
