First run
Saturday 3rd OctToday, October 3, 2026, I completed my first 10-miles run as part of my challenge to run 50 miles for prostate cancer research.
It was tough, but crossing that finish line felt incredible. The distance tested my stamina, determination and mindset, especially during the moments when my legs felt heavy and the final kilometres seemed far away. Every time I wanted to slow down, I reminded myself why I was running.
This challenge is about more than reaching 50 miles . It is about raising awareness and supporting vital research that could help improve the lives of men and their families affected by prostate cancer. Knowing that my efforts can contribute to such an important cause gave me extra motivation when the run became difficult.
Completing the first 10K has given me confidence for the next stage. I still have 40 miles to go, but today proved that I can take on the challenge one run at a time.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, encouraged me or donated so far. Your kindness means a great deal and will help keep me moving towards the 50 miles goal.
